What’s included

  • Full duct length cleaned from the dryer to the exterior hood
  • Exterior vent hood and damper cleared and tested
  • Airflow measured before and after
  • Lint trap housing vacuumed
  • Transition hose inspected for crushing and kinks

Why this one is different

Duct cleaning is mostly about dust and comfort. Dryer vent cleaning is about fire. Lint is highly combustible, it accumulates in exactly the place that gets hottest, and clothes dryers remain a recurring cause of household fires in Ontario.

The signs you already have

  • A normal load now needs two cycles to dry
  • The laundry room becomes noticeably hot while the dryer runs
  • A burning or musty smell during a cycle
  • Lint visible around the outside vent hood
  • The exterior flap barely moves while the dryer is running

Long runs are the problem

Where the laundry sits against an exterior wall, the duct is short and forgiving. Where it sits in a basement interior wall — extremely common in Mississauga townhouses and semis — the run can be six to eight metres with two or three elbows, and every bend is somewhere lint can pack.

Those homes need this done annually rather than every few years. We will tell you which category yours falls into when we see the run.

Questions

Do you clean dryer vents too?

Yes — $99 on its own, or $79 added to any duct cleaning package.

This is the one that is genuinely a safety issue rather than a comfort one. Lint is highly combustible and clothes dryers are a recurring cause of household fires in Ontario. If your dryer now needs two cycles to dry a load, or the outside vent flap barely moves while it runs, the duct is restricted.

How do I know if my dryer vent needs cleaning?

The clearest sign is drying time: if a normal load suddenly needs a second cycle, airflow is restricted. Others are a laundry room that gets unusually hot while the dryer runs, a burning or musty smell, and lint visible around the outside vent hood.

Long runs are the worst offenders. Mississauga townhouses and semis where the laundry sits in a basement interior wall often have 6 to 8 metres of duct with two or three elbows, and those need cleaning far more often than a short exterior-wall run.
